Hosting the Samoa IBFC Weightlifting Universal Cup 2026 is a significant milestone for Samoa, it places our country on the global sporting stage and gives us the opportunity to warmly welcome athletes, officials, and visitors from around the world. Beyond the competition itself, it allows us to showcase our culture, our hospitality, and the strength of our people.

This evening, I would like to acknowledge the Samoa International Finance Authority, and its promotional arm, Samoa International Business Company (IBFC), for their role as Naming Rights Sponsor of this event.
