• Distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is a pleasure to join you here tonight for the Greatlight Cyber Safety Concert, and at the same time, to officially close the Cyber Safety Outreach Week.

Over the past week, we have come together with one shared purpose – to raise awareness and promote safer online spaces for our people, especially our young people.

Through interviews, discussions, outreach activities and community engagement, we have had important conversations on cyber safety, cyberbullying, online scams, mental wellbeing and responsible online behaviour. We have been reminded that while technology brings many opportunities, it also requires responsibility and care.

Tonight reflects what this week has been about:

• Not only awareness – but action.
• Not only education – but engagement.
• And not only Government efforts – but community and unity.

This evening, we see our young people gathered in a positive environment through music, faith, creativity and fellowship. That alone sends a powerful message – that together we can create spaces that inspire hope, positivity and responsible choices.

I commend the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services for leading this initiative, together with the Australian Federal Police, Cyber Safety Pasifika, Hosanna Christian Church Samoa, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

I also wish to acknowledge Cyber Safety Pasifika as we celebrate 15 years of commitment to promoting safer online communities across our Pacific region.

To our Pacific participants who have joined us this week, thank you for being part of this important journey. We hope you leave Samoa with reinforced friendships, shared knowledge and a renewed commitment to building safer online communities across our Pacific. We wish you safe travels and all the very best as you return home.

To our young people here tonight, my message to you is simple:

• Be safe and be smart online.
• Think carefully about what you post.
• Be kind to one another online.

And remember that what happens online can have real impacts in everyday life.

And to parents and families – continue to guide and protect your children online, because cyber safety starts at home.

As we gather for the Greatlight Cyber Safety Concert, let us remember the meaning behind this evening.

Let us be the light to the darkness. Let us be a light that shines across Samoa, throughout the Pacific, and beyond—leading by example in creating an online space that is positive, respectful, and kind.

May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ continue to shine His light through us, so that we may be a positive influence to others and to the world.

As we close this important week, let us remember that cyber safety does not end tonight – it is a responsibility we all share.

Together, let us continue building a safer Samoa online.
