Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi Schmidt met with the Ambassador of Türkiye to Samoa His Excellency Melih Karalar.

The Prime Minister and Ambassador spoke about how Samoa and Turkey can work closely together as they near 50 years of diplomatic ties.

They spoke on how the two nations can overcome issues such as climate change and combatting illegal drugs.

His Excellency is based in Wellington New Zealand.

Samoa and Türkiye have continued to enjoy cordial relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in April 1979.
